The Best Performances and Activities at Schouwburg & Concertzaal Tilburg

Autumn break fun for the whole family

From October 23 to 30, during the autumn break, Dutch theaters will focus on the National Children's Theater Week. At Schouwburg & Concertzaal Tilburg, everything this week revolves around the youngest visitors, with exciting performances and fun family activities!

First weekend of autumn break: a flying start!

On Sunday, October 20, we kick off the Children's Theater Week at Wijkcentrum Heyhoef with PADABOOM! by the music band Drumdrumdrum, a cheerful musical show for children aged 4 and up. They make music with everything they can find – a true party for little adventurers!

For children aged 6 and up, the magical family musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame is on the program in the Schouwburg on the same day. This captivating story about Quasimodo comes to life with puppetry and enchanting scenery.

Mid-autumn break: get creative

On Wednesday, October 23, the whole family can enjoy The Diary of an Ugly Duckling (6+), a touching and poetic performance from Italy about a young swan growing up among ducks. Before and after the performance, children can participate in a creative workshop from SNENS in the foyer, where they can craft something beautiful.

Little ones who enjoy dancing can join a dance workshop (ages 4-7) after the performance. The workshop lasts 45 minutes, and parents can register their children on-site in the foyer with dance teacher Marina Kaptein. Meanwhile, parents can relax with a drink at Benee. The children will be brought back to their parents there.

Last weekend of the autumn break: a surprising conclusion

On Sunday, October 27, step into a topsy-turvy world with Topsy Turvy! After the performance, there will be an energetic dance workshop in the Vrije Ruimte, where children can let loose completely. Wear something comfortable and join in, while your parents enjoy a drink at Benee. Registration can be done via the website or on-site in the foyer.

We will spectacularly close the Children's Theater Week with the thrilling family opera Pirate Queen. This adventurous performance takes you on a wild journey with a gang of pirates, led by soprano Francis van Broekhuizen as Grace O’Malley. The performance is suitable for children aged 8 and older. Before and after the opera, children can participate in a free creative workshop from SNENS, where they can let their imagination run wild.
